mesteroloneMesterolone is a synthetic form of diydroxytestosterone (DHT).
It has a mild anti-estrogenic and androgenic action.
Mesterolone improves body composition, through beta oxidation of fatty acids.
It improves dramatically libido, since it binds strongly with the sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG).
Therefore, it allows free testosterone (FT) to circulate.
DHT as a substance is considered to be five times more androgenic than testosterone.
However DHT has no positive effect on skeletal muscle and growth.
Mesterolone, along with drostanolone and SERMs, could become an alternative form of anti-estrogenic treatment within a cycle, in order to avoid the side effects of potent aromatase inhibitors.
It is the only pharmaceutical grade AAS pill, which is not 17- alkylated.
Therefore, hepatotoxicity is unlikely.
Mesterolone affects benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), male pattern hair loss (MPB-androgenic alopecia) and body/facial hair growth.
In high doses it is suppresive to hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis (HPTA).
As all AAS, mesterolone has negative effects on serum lipids (reduction of high density lipoprotein-HDL-, increase in low density lipoprotein-LDL- and total cholesterol), which are dose and time  dependant.
